Dorman R. Gallagher
Bristol - Dorman R. Gallagher, 86, of Bristol passed away on January 28, 2021, at the Bristol Hospital. He was born in Grand Falls, NB, Canada on May 24, 1934, the son of the late Clarence and Celeste (Bolstridge) Gallagher.
A U.S. Army Veteran, Dorman served his country in the USA and Germany in the 50’s. He later worked until retirement as a draftsman for Hallden Tool & Machine Company in Thomaston, CT.
Dorman lived in Bristol, CT, for nearly 60 years. He was often seen taking a daily walk near downtown Bristol. In later years, after a serious fall, he took his daily walk pushing a walker and wearing a helmet. He was truly a man with a kind and generous heart, and he contributed to countless charities throughout the years. He will be dearly missed by his family and acquaintances.
Dorman is pre-deceased by a brother, Donald Gallagher, of Seattle, WA. He is survived by a sister, Marilyn G. Sedelmeyer of Fort White, FL, and a brother, George Gallagher of Livingston, MT. He is survived by one nephew in Chicago, IL, three nephews in Seattle, WA, one nephew in Denton, TX, and his nephew Stephen Banatoski in Maynard, MA, who provided his uncle with ongoing care through the years.
The family deeply appreciates and thanks Jennifer Lech, Dorman’s doctors and staff, and many others in the Bristol Community, who brightened his path and lightened his load. God bless you all.
Dorman will be buried in the Advent Cemetery in Limestone, ME, near his mother and other family members.
