Shelton

Anthony E. Dorazio, 61, passed away on November 30, 2025, at his home in Shelton.

Anthony was born in Bristol, the son of the late Francis and Virginia (Smith) Dorazio. He leaves behind his treasured rescue dog, Drake, who was the love of his life these past two years. Being a big animal lover and having a huge heart for those in need, Anthony would do anything for Drake and his prior dogs. He spoiled them every day with treats, toys and lots of love, hugs and kisses.

Besides Drake, Anthony leaves behind his siblings – Teresa Barile (worth mentioning is her late husband Ronald Barile), Michael Dorazio, Donna Michaud, Kathleen Czarnecki (and her husband Julian), Francine Dumas, and Jennifer Fischer (and her husband Andy), as well as many nieces and nephews.

Anthony will be lovingly remembered for his utmost devotion to the Catholic faith as well as his unconditional love he shared with his family and friends. The Lord Jesus and Mother Mary were a huge part of his daily life. Anthony had many talents. It gave him great joy to invite his large family to his home to cook meals, especially at the holidays. He loved to cook and was exceptional at it. Anthony especially loved to paint, inspired by his late Mother Virginia Dorazio. He also loved to fix things, inspired by his late Father Francis Dorazio.

The family heartfully extends many thanks to VCA Shoreline Hospital in Shelton, Northbound Rescue Group in Middletown, and the Shelton Animal Control and Police Department, for their compassion and help following Anthony’s passing to find a happy and safe place for Anthony’s dog Drake.

A Catholic funeral mass will be held at St. Gregory Church in Bristol on Thursday, December 18, 2025 at 11:00 am. A cremation burial will immediately follow at St. Joseph Cemetery in Bristol where Anthony will be buried alongside his late grandparents Ermento and Irma Dorazio. Dunn Funeral Home in Bristol is in charge of the funeral arrangements. There are no calling hours. All our welcome to come to the church and cemetery to honor Anthony and pray for him.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly asks that donations may be made in Anthony’s memory to St. Joseph Church in Shelton, Northbound Rescue Group in Middletown and/or the VCA Shoreline Hospital in Shelton.
