Gary Robert Ouellette, 69, passed away on September 29, 2026, following a courageous battle with muscular dystrophy. Though his battle was difficult, his life will be remembered for so much more than the illness he faced. Gary was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend whose life was marked by hard work, dedication, and the lasting relationships he built with those around him.
Gary grew up in Plainville, Connecticut, and graduated from St. Paul Catholic High School. A hardworking man, he proudly worked for the Connecticut Laborers’ Union, Local 230, dedicating himself to his work throughout his life. A previous Eagle Scout, Gary also took great pride in his involvement with the Knights of Columbus Palos #35, where he was a lifetime member and past Grand Knight.
Above all, Gary's greatest legacy is the family and loved ones who will forever carry his memory in their hearts. He shared 44 years of marriage with his beloved wife, Linda, building a life together filled with memories and experiences that will always be treasured. He was a proud father to Austin, Crystal, and Robert, and a cherished grandfather to Ethan and Isaiah.
Gary found happiness in the simple pleasures of life and the traditions that brought people together. He enjoyed playing pool in the APA league alongside his son, sharing time together through a game they both loved. An avid card player, Gary could often be found at the poker table on a Friday night or stepping in for a setback player on a Tuesday night. These familiar routines were a meaningful part of his life and reflected the friendships and traditions he held dear.
Gary will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 44 years, Linda; his children, Austin, Crystal, and Robert; his grandchildren, Ethan and Isaiah; his sister, Beverly, and her husband, Timothy Woodworth; his many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and in-laws; and his lifelong friends, Mike and Patty Papapietro, who held a special place in his life.
He was predeceased by his beloved parents, Ernest and Rinette Ouellette.
Gary's courageous battle with muscular dystrophy was a difficult chapter in his life, but it does not define the man he was or the love he gave. He will be remembered for his years of hard work, his dedication to his family and community, and the many moments he shared with the people closest to him.
Although his passing leaves an immeasurable void in the lives of those who loved him, his memory will live on through his family, the friendships he cherished, and the countless memories that will continue to bring comfort in the days and years ahead.
Gary will be deeply missed, forever loved, and never forgotten. His life was a part of so many others, and the love he leaves behind will remain long after this goodbye.
Funeral and memorial service arrangements will be announced by the family at a later date.
