William B. Wagenknecht
Mr. William B. Wagenknecht, 81, of Bristol passed away Wednesday, April 17, 2013 at his home. He is the husband of 53 years to the late Lois C. (Zahnke) Wagenknecht.

William was born on June 27, 1931 in Fall River, Massachusetts the son of the late William H. and Elizabeth (Harrington) Wagenknecht.
He graduated from Rhode Island school of design with a degree in engineering. Following his education he enlisted in the United States Navy and served two years in the Korean conflict. Bill went on to work at New Departure Hyatt Division of General Motors for over 30 years. He was the owner of R & W Bearings for 10 years.
Bill was involved in many charitable clubs and organizations. Most notable the exchange club of Bristol which he served as the club president and district president. He received "The Book of Golden Deeds" award for lifetime service to the organization. Bill was a deacon of the First Congregational Church of Bristol. He was an avid golfer and a lifelong member of Pequabuck Golf Club.
He leaves behind two sons, David and his wife Carol Wagner of East Greenwich Rhode Island and Ted Wagenknecht whom resided with Bill; five grandchildren, Jeremy Robotham, Kelly Robotham, both of Connecticut , James, Jacqueline and Meredith Wagner of Rhode Island; four great grandchildren, Anthony Rosa, Jacob Harvey, Joshua Rosa and Alice Robotham; plus several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a daughter, Heather Robotham and a sister Elizabeth W. Maynert.

A Memorial service and military honors will take place on April 27, 2013 at the First Congregational Church 31 Maple St. Bristol at 11 AM. Burial will take place at a later date. The Dunn Funeral Home 191 West St., Bristol is in charge of the arrangements.
