Wesley H. Getchell

Wesley Hanford Getchell Jr. born May 9, 1944 to Wesley H. Getchell and Lillian (Foster) Getchell, passed away peacefully with his son Louis at his home on Sunday, September 15, 2024. 

He was pre-deceased by his parents, grandparents, a sister Dorothy Hewins and a sister Wilda Guillow. 

He is survived by his wife Ginny Getchell of Ohio. His 4 children: Daughters Carla Getchell of NC, Nikki Adams of Ohio, Tammy Kenney (Shawn) of Vernon, CT and his son and daughter in law with whom he resided, Louis and Jenn Getchell of Bristol CT. He also leaves behind a stepson that he helped raise, Stephen Simmons of FL, 9 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren along with the children’s brother, Kevin Rivenburgh, whom he greatly admired. 

He enjoyed playing pool at a competitive level right up to within days of his passing, and loved attending Red Sox Games with his Louis and his brother Kevin. He also enjoyed little league games with Louis, Kevin and Jameson. He enjoyed hunting as well as playing cards.
