Vittorio Mastrobattista, 98, of Bristol passed away Monday, March 14, 2011, at Ingraham Manor, in Bristol. He was the husband of Rose (D'Appollonio) Mastrobattista. Vittorio was born in Lenola, Province of Latina, Italy, June 24, 1912, the son of the late Luigi and Lorenza (Panno) Mastrobattista. He was a veteran in the Italian Army serving in World War II. He came to the United States in 1953. He worked for the City of Bristol in the Water Department for 24 years before he retired in 1977. Vittorio enjoyed time with his family and grandchildren. He loved his flower garden and his vegetable garden, which he enjoyed the fruits of the Lord daily. He was a member of St. Anthony Church. Besides his wife, he is survived by two sons, Louis and his wife, Betty, Mastrobattista of Kensington, Md. and Andrew and his wife, Donna, Mastrobattista of Dover, N.H.; a daughter, Lorenza and her husband, Richard LaRose, of Bristol; three grandchildren, Michael, Drew and Regina; three great-grandchildren, Isabella, Michaela and Megyn; and a nephew, Jack Mastrobattista. He was the last sibling in his family of six. Alfredo, Giovanni, Celeste, Pasqualina and Luisa, all predeceased him. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Thursday, March 17, 2011, at 10 a.m., at St. Anthony Church. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery, in Bristol.
