Roselyn Hannah Ventrella

Roselyn Hannah (Given) Ventrella, 81, of Bristol passed away Wednesday, May 25, 2016, at Bristol Hospital surrounded by her family. She was the loving wife of Anthony J. Ventrella Sr. Roselyn, known as Riz to those who knew her well, was born in Bristol on Jan. 30, 1935, to the late Frank and Emma (DiBiase) Given. Riz, a devoted Christian, possessed a zest for life and her family. She loved to bake and try new recipes. In addition to being a wonderful cook, Riz enjoyed ceramics, playing cards, going for walks, dancing, and shopping. She especially looked forward to her trips to Florida for the winter with her husband. She will be remembered most for organizing the annual family picnic/reunion held every year on the first Sunday after Labor Day. She is survived by her five children and their spouses, Veronica and Donald Angels, Angelina and Dominic Spinelli, Annette and Glenn Riccardi, Anthony J. Jr. and Maureen Harrington, and Laurie Ann and William Adams; grandchildren, Donald Angels, Valerie Sanchez, David Ventrella, Christopher and Andrew Riccardi, and Sean Brennan; two great-grandchildren, Ariana and Robert Sanchez; brother, Michael Kowal and wife, Lori; sisters, Mary Fontaine and Karen Kowal and many nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, and friends. She is predeceased by her brother, Thomas Given. Roselyn’s family would like to extend their sincere gratitude to the Hospice of Bristol Hospital staff and volunteers for their kindness and devoted care.
