Bristol, Mr. Rocco Velardo, 80, of 315 Divinity St., Bristol passed away peacefully on Thursday, April 17, 2008, at the Bristol Hospital.
He was the widower of Christine Alice (Ward) Velardo.
Mr. Velardo was born in Bristol on October 30, 1927, the son of the late Anthony and Virginia (Gimini) Velardo.
Rocco was a resident of Bristol his whole life. A veteran of the Korean War serving in the Army. He worked for Superior Electric for over 46 years before he retired in 1990. He was a member of St. Anthony Church.
He is survived by a daughter Roxane Velardo of Bristol and his beloved pets; a brother John and his wife, Irene Velardo of Terryville; two sisters, Rose Baldaccini and Mary Hamlin; and several nephews and nieces.
He is predeceased by four brothers, Michael, Dominick, James and Frank; and two sisters, Madaline Nocera and Caroline Fortier.
Military service will be held on Tuesday at 9:00 AM from the Dunn Funeral Home 191 West St., Bristol, to St. Anthony Church for a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 Am. Friends may call at the funeral home on Monday from 5 to 7 PM.
Burial will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery, Bristol.
