Bristol, Mr. Raymond Grenier, 70, of Lake Ave., Bristol passed away Thursday, March 17, 2011at his home. He was the widower of Beverly (Hamm) Grenier. Before she passed away they were married for 33 years.

Raymond was born in Waterbury on July 19, 1940 the son of the late Arel and Loretta (Deshaies) Grenier Demirs Baker.
He is survived by 7 children, Deborah Fernandes, Roxanne Schmid, Anne Marie Degnan, Marlene Grenier, Darlene Monahan, Evette "Grenier" Gabledon and John Grenier. 11 Grandchildren and 1 great grandchild. 3 brothers, Robert Demirs and his wife Bobbie Francine Demirs, Roger Demirs, Danny Demirs, 2sisters, Elaine Haase and Linda Demirs. Plus many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a son, Todd Grenier, a brother, Frederick Demirs and 2 sisters, Madelyn Jackaruso and Annette Beaulieu and a niece, Lisa "Demirs" Carrol.
He was a stellar meat cutter for over 46 years and was employed by A &P, Meadow Meat and Adams Supermarket in Watertown. His biggest role in life was that of a committed father who offered unconditional love and support no matter what the circumstances were. He was known to moonlight as "the master butcher and artist" at family holidays while always remaining humble. He had a passion for animals of any kind and spent his later years still educating himself while remaining fascinated by animal behaviors. He loved dancing at many family events and would often be the one pulling everybody on the dance floor. In his more active years he loved fishing and hunting and spending quality time with his wife and children. He will always be remembered for his warmth, integrity, kind spirit and generosity.

A graveside service will be held on Monday, March 21, 2011 at 10:00am at South End Cemetery in Southington.
