Ralph R. Colapietro, 96, of Bristol passed away Saturday, March 10, 2012, at The Village Green in Forestville. He was the widower of Helen Elizabeth (Duncan) Colapietro.
He was born March 25, 1915 in Bristol, the son of Vito and Nettie (Comparone) Colapietro.
He worked at Veeder Root Inc. for more than 43 years before he retired in 1980. He was a veteran serving in the Army during WWII.
He was a member American Legion Post 165 in Wolcott and loved to play golf at West Woods Golf Course and was a member of St. Joseph Church in Bristol.
He is survived by a brother, Vito Colapietro of Florida, plus several nieces and nephews.
Besides his wife, he was predeceased by a son, Ralph "Chippy" Colapietro, and six brothers, John, Nick, Tom, Sylvester, Joe and Louis Colapietro and a great friend, Louis DeFlippi.
The funeral will be held Tuesday at 9 a.m. from Dunn Funeral Home, 191 West St., Bristol, to St. Joseph Church for a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. Burial with military honors will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery, Bristol. Family and friends may call at the funeral home Tuesday from 9 to 9:30 a.m.
