BRISTOL - Phyllis M. Barlowski, 83, wife of the late Stanley A. Barlowski, of Sixth Street, died Sunday, Dec. 10, 2006, at Bristol Hospital. She was born in Meriden Nov. 7, 1923, daughter of the late Julius and Adeline (Wornieck) Awdziewicz. She was employed at the former Smith Gates Inc. in Farmington for many years, retiring in 1988. She was a very active and devoted member of St. Stanislaus Church. Mrs. Barlowski was a member of the Ladies Guild, she was a volunteer at St. Stanislaus Church bingo for many years and a member of the Golden Agers. Phyllis loved her family dearly. She loved to cook and bake. She made the best apple pie in the world. She also crocheted many afghans throughout the years. She will be missed by family and friends. She is now resting in peace with the Lord. She is survived by twin sons, Stas J. Barlowski of Havelock, N.C., Stephen J. Barlowski of Rainier, Wash. and Robert P. Barlowski of Bristol; one daughter, Barbara, and her husband, David Wheeler, of Bristol; one brother, Jules and his wife, Helen Awdziewicz, of Meriden; a sister, Albina Loiko of Bristol; three grandchildren, Robert R. Testa, Kara B. Testa and Shane Barlowski. Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 9 a.m. from Dunn Funeral Home, 191 West St., Bristol, to St. Stanislaus Church for a Mass at 10 a.m. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery, Bristol. Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home today from 5 to 8 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to St. Stanislaus Church air conditioning fund, 510 West St., Bristol, CT 06010.
