Bristol, Paul G. Apruzzese, 90, of 43 Hardwick Rd., Bristol, passed away Monday, at Hartford Hospital, after suffering from a stroke. He was the widower of Loreta (Schiavi) Apruzzese.

Mr. Apruzzese was born in Gallinaro, Province of Frosinone, Italy on March 23, 1914, the last of 13 children the son of the late Franceso and Cesidia (Franchi) Apruzzese.
He was a successful businessman in four provinces until he came to the U.S. in 1956. He resided in Jersey City, NJ until 1988, where he worked for the Newark Catholic Cemeteries, retiring after 25 years of service. He was an active member of the Bristol Senior Citizens Center, where he danced on a weekly basis. He had a magnetic personality with a warm smile that welcomed you everytime you saw him. He had a passion for gardening and singing and loved to entertain his friends with his home cooking and homemade wine. He will be dearly missed by his family and all who knew him.
He was a member of St. Matthew Church in Bristol and St. Aloysius Church in New Jersey.
He is survived by a son, Gerard and his wife, Joan Apruzzese of Fairfield, NJ; two daughters, Antoinette Cain and her husband, Don, of Stroudsburg, PA and Maria Johnson and her husband, Joseph P. of Bristol; four grandchildren, Chris Cain of NV, Paul Apruzzese of NJ and Laura and Jay Johnson of Bristol; a sister-in-law and two brothers-in-laws in Italy; and nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by a son, Gerard, and 12 brothers and sisters.

The funeral will be held on Thursday at 8:00 am from Dunn Funeral Home, 191 West St., Bristol, to St. Matthew Church for a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:00 am. Burial will follow in Holy Name Cemetery, Jersey City, NJ
Friends may call at the funeral home on Wednesday from 2 to 4 and
7 to 9 PM.
