Mrs. Sophie (Bobinski) White, 83, of Bristol passed away August 24, 2013, from injuries sustained from an accident at Hartford Hospital. She was the widow of Donald C. White.
Sophie was born March 1, 1930, in Bristol, the daughter of the late Alexander and Vincentina (Bartlewski) Bobinski.
She was a lifelong resident of Bristol and worked for Travelers Insurance Company for more than 25 years, retiring in 1991. She is a member of the Bristol Polish Women's auxiliary club, The Legion of Mary and was recently the vice president of The Golden Agers at St. Stanislaus church.
She loved her trips to the casino and was an avid bingo player, but most of all she loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, especially around the holidays and special family occasions.
She is survived by one son. Gregory White and his wife, Kym, of Bristol; a daughter, Mary and her husband, Terry DellaVecchia, of Bristol; a sister-in-law, Sadie Bobinski, of Bristol; six grandchildren, Gina Pagano, Kristen Osowiecki, Jennifer Youman, Aaron DellaVecchia, Tory White and Lyndsey White; seven great-grandchildren, Gabriel Pagano, Grace and Lily Pagano and Alexis and Johnny Osowiecki and Abbey and Jonah Youman; plus several nieces and nephews.
She pre-deceased by her brother, Eugene "Kip" Bobinski.
The funeral will be held Wednesday at 9 a.m. from the Dunn Funeral Home, 191 West St., to St. Stanislaus Church for A Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery, Bristol. Friends may call at the funeral home on Tuesday from 5 to 8 p.m.
