Mrs. Hazel F. (Islieb) Galipo
Mrs. Hazel F. (Islieb) Galipo, 98, of 61 Bellevue Ave. and previously of Birchwood, Bristol, passed away on 15th day August 2008, at The Pines Nursing Home in Bristol. She previously lived in Storrs for almost 40 years. She was the widow of A. Earle Galipo.
Mrs. Galipo was born in Glastonbury, CT on September 1, 1909 the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Walter Islieb.
She worked for the State of Connecticut in Mansfield before she retired in 1964. Prior to that she worked in the textile industry in Coventry, CT.
She is survived by a son, Russell Galipo, a former City of Bristol Comptroller, of Lakeland, FL and eight grandchildren; and eight great grandchildren.
She is predeceased by a son, Bruce Galipo of Delaware, who died in 2005.
The funeral and burial will be held at the convenience of the family. Dunn Funeral Home, 191 West St. Bristol is in charge of the arrangements.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made either to the American Cancer Society, or the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, Conn. Chapter, 185 Silas Deane Hwy, Wethersfield, CT 06109-1219.
