Bristol, Mr. Milton J. (Poppy) Samartino, 76, of 1469 Farmington Ave. Bristol passed away on Saturday a€" Nov. 27, 2004 at Bristol Hospital he was the husband of Jacqueline (D'Aprile) Samartino.
He was born in Bristol on January 30, 1928 the son of the late Antonio F. and Mary A. (Coverty) Samartino.
He was a resident of Bristol his whole life, and was a life time member of St. Anthony Church. A veteran of WW II serving in the Navy.
Before he retired in 1988 he worked at Gerber Products for 30 years.
Besides his wife of Bristol he is survived by a son Michael and his wife Kathryn Samartino and a daughter Tina and her husband Gerald Beaudoin; a brother Robert Samartino and 5 Grandchildren Lauren, Kasey and Douglas Beaudoin and Michael and Emily Samartino. A Sister-in-law Linda D'Aprile. All from Bristol.
Several nieces and nephews.
He is pre-deceased by a brother Anthony Samartino
The funeral will be held on Monday at 9:30 am from Dunn Funeral Home 191 West St. Bristol to St. Anthony Church for a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 am. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery, Bristol. Calling hours are from 9:30 to 10:30 Monday.
