Mildred M. (Shea) Powers
Mildred M. (Shea) Powers, 91, wife of the late Harold J. Powers Sr., died Wednesday at Bristol Nursing Care Center. She was born in Burlington, Vt. on Dec. 15, 1913, daughter of the late Joseph and Marcelline (Mero) Shacket. She retired from New Departure-Hyatt in 1977 and before that worked at Doris Rex in Thomaston. She is survived by four sons, Thomas Shea of Bristol, Harold Powers of Burlington, Patrick Powers of Florida and Dennis Powers of Plymouth; three daughters, Mary (Peggy) Ziomek of Wolcott, Kathleen Hoadley of Vernon and Corrine Ray of Texas; 19 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by two sons, Lawrence Shea and James Powers. Funeral services will be held Saturday at 10:30 a.m. from Dunn Funeral Home, 191 West St., Bristol to St. Joseph Church for a Mass at 11:30 a.m. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery. Viewing hours will be held today from 6 to 8 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Bristol Nursing Care Center, 61 Bellevue Ave., Bristol, CT 06010.
