Mr. Matthew E. Jenkins, Sr., 56 of Bristol, Connecticut passed away peacefully at Quinn Hospice Center in Kenansville, North Carolina on Saturday, September 19, 2009. He was surrounded by his loving family.
Matthew was born in Boykins, Virginia on December 25, 1952. He was the son of the late Raleigh Lee Jordan and Hester Jenkins. He was a resident of Bristol most of his life. He is survived by six children Jodi Jenkins, Matthew (Littleman) Jenkins, Danata (Jenkins) Wosilis and her spouse Joseph, Wyatt Jenkins, Yasmin Jenkins and Deondre Jenkins. Eleven grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. He also leaves two brothers James (Ed) Jenkins, Curtis Jenkins and two sisters, Martha Ann (Jenkins) Wiggins and Francis Jordan. He will be reunited with his brother Raleigh Jenkins and his nephews, Frankie and Keith Jenkins.
Service will be held at Dunn Funeral Home, 191 West St. Bristol on Saturday at 5:30 Pm with the Reverend Irene Singleton from Tower of Hope Ministries, officiating. Family and friends may call at the funeral home on Saturday from 5 Pm until time of the service. Flower arrangements may be sent to the funeral home and donations can be sent to the American Diabetes Foundation 306 Industrial Park Rd. Site 105 Middletown, CT 06457.
