Marino "Mario" S. Fabrizio, 91, of 139 Chestnut St., Bristol, passed away Saturday, Jan. 7, 2012, at his home. He was the widower of Virginia (Parenti) Fabrizio.

Mario was born in Bristol on Sept. 18, 1920, the son of the late Giuseppe and Marie (Calderoni) Fabrizio. He lived his life in Bristol and was a veteran of WW II serving in the Army. He worked for Seth Thomas Clock in Thomaston for 25 years and the City of Bristol for many years before he retired. He was a member of St. Anthony Church, the Italian Social Club and a former member of the West End Athletic Club.

He was an avid New York Yankees fan, New York Giants and UConn Men and Women Basketball fan.

He is survived by a daughter, Barbara Fabrizio of Bristol, son, Dennis Fabrizio of Newington and a daughter, Sharon Fabrizio of Bristol; a brother, John Fabrizio of Plainville and two sisters, Jean Herko of Berlin and Rose D'Angelo of Plainville; three grandchildren, Shawn, Matthew, both of Bristol, and Sarah Kilpatrick of West Chester, Pa. and four great-grandchildren, Brayden, Nicholas, Anthony, and Ryan; plus several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a son, Richard Fabrizio, and several brothers and sisters.

The funeral will be held on Wednesday at 9 a.m. from Dunn Funeral Home, 191 West St., Bristol to St. Anthony Church for a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. Burial will follow with full military honors in St. Joseph Cemetery, Bristol. Family and friends may call at the funeral home Tuesday from 5 to 8 p.m. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the American Heart Association. (AmericanHeart.org). WWW.Dunnfh.com
