Lucy Michaud

Lucy Michaud (1933 - 2024). After a brief illness, Lucy died peacefully on June 11, 2024. She was born in Williamsburg, MA to Robert and Arolyn (Proudy) Mathers. She was predeceased by her husband, Maxwell R. Michaud, her son, Raymond Michaud, her parents and her brothers, Robert Mathers, Jr., John Mathers, Charles Mathers, and her sisters, Elizabeth Bushee, Esther Sousa, Winona Lockwood, Anne Mathers, and Lily Rustemeyer. 

She is survived by her son, Richard Michaud of Bristol, CT and daughter, Deborah Michaud of Kansas City, MO.

 Lucy worked as a waitress at West End Pizza for many years, and her love for people and for laughter there allowed her to be known and enjoyed by many in town. Once retired, she was often heard saying she felt bored as she missed working at the restaurant and interacting with the customers.

 She was gifted in sewing things such as matching clothes for her family to attend Easter church services. She spent years knitting and crocheting scarves, blankets, hats and mittens. In her later years she donated most of these to homeless shelters and food pantries.

 Lucy was a long-time member of Grace Baptist Church in Bristol. Her faith was important to her. She often reminded her family how she prayed for them on a nightly basis.

Memory service will be held to celebrate Lucy's life at Dunn Funeral Home 191 West St. Bristol on August 10, 2024 at 10:00 AM. Friends may call at the funeral home from 9:30 AM until time of the service. 

Burial will follow in West Cemetery.
