Kenneth C. Knox
Kenneth C. Knox, 88, of Bristol, beloved husband of 68 years to Phylis T. (Wells) Knox, died Saturday, Oct. 16, 2010, at his home. "Kenny" was born Aug. 16, 1922, in Augusta, Maine. He was a resident of Bristol for over 65 years. After serving four years in the U.S. Army Air Corsp as a decorated World War II veteran, he was employed as a foreman at J.H. Sessions & Son for over 50 years. He was a dedicated member of Pequabuck Golf Course for more than 50 years and made many lifelong friends on the links. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, uncle and friend. His family always came first and they will miss his humor, kindness, love and guidance. Beside his wife, he is survived by his devoted daughter, Pamela Roberts, of Bristol, who will miss him every day; his daughter-in-law, Kathleen Knox of Litchfield; his five grandchildren, Kenneth Knox of Colorado, Dr. Karen Dettmer and her husband, Matthew, of Torrington, William Roberts of California, Sarah Roberts of Nebraska and Katherine Guimond and her husband, Raymond, of Bristol; his loving niece, Doris Philbrick, of Bristol; his bonus grandson and devoted neighbor, Mark Duso; his great-grandchildren, Graelyn, Leah, Justin, Jessah and Cody, were very special to him and brought him joy. He was predeceased by his son, Gary Knox, who greeted him in Heaven with a chilled Manhattan and a bag of clubs. Papa's loving granddaughter and friend, Katherine, was his caretaker and companion. The family would also like to thank Vitas Innovative Hospice Care and Mark Duso for enabling him to remain home with his family. There's a special place for you all in heaven. In honoring Mr. Knox's wishes, there will be no services.

~ I would rather have a loving smile from friends I know are true, than tears around a casket when this world I bid adieu. I rather have a pleasant word in kindness said to me, than flattery when my heart is still and this life has ceased to be ~

Dunn Funeral Home, 191 West St., Bristol, is in charge of the arrangements. www.Dunnfh.com
