Bristol, CT Joseph Petke Joseph Everett Petke, 61, of Bristol, CT, passed way unexpectedly Saturday, February 7, 2015. He was the husband of Jennifer (Thompson) Petke. Born in Westfield, MA on April 11, 1953, Joe was the son of the late Mare (Hunt) and Walter Gerhardt Petke. He graduated from Bristol Eastern High School and the University of Connecticut after which Joe served as a 1st Lieutenant in the Marine Corps. Joe was a basketball referee for the Bristol Boys & Girls Club, Plainville YMCA, also many high schools and colleges.

He was an avid New York Yankee and UConn basketball fan and a long time member of Pequabuck Golf Club. More recently, he had a newfound love for woodworking. In addition to his wife, Jennifer, Joe is survived by two daughters; Rachel and Erin Petke; a brother Jon Petke, his wife Mimi and two sisters, Emily Backus and Susie Rotondo; a mother and father- in-law Patricia and Phillip Thompson; sister-in-law, Erica Puglielli and husband Mark; and brothers-in-law, Howard Thompson and wife Jenni; and Phillip Thompson and wife Janna plus several nieces and nephews and many wonderful friends. Calling hours will be held on Wednesday, February 18 at Dunn Funeral Home at 191 West St. Bristol, CT 06010 from 4 to 7 PM. A memorial Mass will be held Thursday, February 19 at 11:00AM at St. Gregory Church, Bristol. Burial will be at the convenience of the family.
