Joanne Helen Jacquemin, 83, of Bristol, passed away peacefully at St. Vincent’s Hospital on July 5, 2025.
Born in Torrington, CT, on June 13, 1942, she was the daughter of the late Joseph Jacquemin Sr. and Helen (Kaczynski) Nimro.
Joanne was the proud owner of Shear Styling by Joanne, where she built a successful business over the course of nearly 40 years before recently retiring. Beyond her career, she had a passion for UConn basketball and was a dedicated New York Yankees fan. A lover of country music, Joanne enjoyed attending concerts and had a variety of hobbies, including bowling, golfing, playing bingo, and watching game shows. But one of her greatest joys, second only to her love of cutting hair, was cutting her lawn on her beloved John Deere tractor.
Above all, Joanne treasured her family, finding deep joy and meaning in the time spent with them. Her kindness, infectious sense of humor, and unwavering devotion to those she loved will be remembered and missed by all who knew her.
Joanne is survived by her son, Ronald F. Jacquemin; her three granddaughters, Taylor Jacquemin, Erica Jacquemin, and Alexa (Mike) Hoadley; and her great-grandchildren, Michael and Gracie Hoadley. She was affectionately known as "JoJo" by her grandchildren.
She is also survived by her brother, Albert (Mary Ellen) Kaczynski, and was predeceased by her brother, Joseph Jacquemin Jr.
In addition, Joanne is survived by her nieces, Karen Czerwinski and Heather Jacquemin; her nephews, Greg Kaczynski and Tim (Deborah) Jacquemin; and her great-niece and great-nephew, Brooke and Tyler Czerwinski.
