Mr. James DiMeo, 85, of, Farmington passed away Tuesday, February 12, 2019 peacefully in his sleep at home.
He was the husband of Viola (Boguslawski) DiMeo for 65 years. James was born in Bristol on May 13, 1933 the son of the late James and Ann (McNevins) DiMeo. A life-long Bristol resident, and the owner of James DiMeo World of Wheels in Bristol and Village Motors in Manchester for many years . James was a lifelong Yankees fan. As an avid fan at the young age 13 he boarded a train alone and went to New York to see his beloved team play.
Besides his wife, he is survived by his sons and daughters in law, William (Linda) DiMeo of Bristol, Anthony “TY” (Lorenda) DiMeo of Southington, Robert (Mary) DiMeo of Burlington; a daughter, Jamie Levine and her husband Fred of Glen Allen, VA; a sister, Ann Hargraves of Hanover, New Hampshire; Four grandchildren, Sarah DiMeo, James DiMeo, Amanda DiMeo and Whitney DiMeo. Also his life long best friend Fred Rich from St Petersburg,FL. DiMeo family would like to thank his friend and caretaker of 7 years Frank Boakye.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, February 18, 2019 at 11:00 AM at St. Ann Church. Friends may call at the Dunn Funeral Home 191 West St. Bristol from 9:00 - 10:30 AM. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery, in Bristol. WWW.Dunnfh.com
