Irene Doris (Pilbin) Garofalo
BRISTOL - Irene Doris (Pilbin) Garofalo, 86, of Bristol, passed away May 8, 2007, at Farmington Care Center. She was the widow of Michael Garofalo. Irene was born Sept. 24, 1920, in Bristol, the daughter of the late George and Anna (Dimeola) Pilbin. She worked at the former Hildreth Press until she retired. She was a member of Bristol Senior Citizens and Prospect United Methodist Church. She is survived by three sons, Frank G. Garofalo of Plainville, Michael J. Garofalo of Surfside Beach, S.C., and Richard L. Garofalo of Murrells Inlet, S.C.; a sister, Joyce Tanner of Sierra Vista, Ariz.; seven grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. The funeral service will be held Friday, May 11, 2007, at 11 a.m. at Prospect United Methodist Church. Burial will follow in West Cemetery, Bristol. Friends may call at Dunn Funeral Home, 191 West St., Bristol, Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Diabetes Research, 1701 N. Beauregard St., Alexandria, VA 22311.
