Waterbury, Frances " Cookie" (Mastropasqua) Mastrototaro, of The Village at East Farms, Waterbury, CT and formerly of Bristol, passed away Thursday, October 28, 2010 at the CT Hospice Center in Branford. She was the wife of Joseph Mastrototaro for 72 years who passed away in 2007.
She was born in Bari, Province of Turi, Italy on June 21, 1918 the daughter of the late Domenic and Grace (Fiore) Mastropasqua.
Frances was a housewife who loved to cook and spend time with her family and friends. She was a member of St. Anthony Church, in Bristol.
She is survived by two sons Michael Mastrototaro of Whitestone, NY and Gino Mastrototaro of North Hutchinson Island, Florida and Cape Cod, a daughter Grace Cocchiola of Watertown. 7 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren also two nieces, Mary Benvenuto and Angie Parsons both of Bristol.
She is pre-deceased by her sister, Rose Nortarangelo and a brother, Joseph Mastropasqua.
The family would like to thank all the aides who helped with her care and all the staff at the Village for their kindness extended to our mom during her stay at the assisted living facility and to the VNA Hospice of Waterbury along with CT Hospice of Branford.
The funeral will be held on Monday at 9:00 am from Dunn Funeral Home 191 West St. Bristol to St. Anthony Church for a Mass of
Christian Burial at 11:00 am. Entombment will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery, Bristol. Family and friends may call at the funeral home on Monday from 9:00 to 10:30Am.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the American Cancer Society, C/O Jessica Tynan-Lynch, 1075 Chase Parkway, Waterbury, CT 06708 or CT Hospice 100 Double Beach Rd. Branford, CT 06405.
