Elaine Alice (Mayes) Brennan,78, beloved wife of Charles Brennan passed away on Sunday, May 21, 2023 at her home in Wolcott.
Elaine was born in Bristol on October 4, 1944, the daughter of the late William and Rachael (Brackett) Mayes.
Besides her husband of 57 years, she is survived by two sons, Russell and his wife Debbie Brennan and Steven and his wife Nancy Brennan, one daughter, Becky and her husband Randy James, her three sisters Maureen Gilliam, Sharon Thompson and Estelle Goltz. She was the doting grandmother of Brett Brennan, Jacob and Alex James. She was predeceased by a son Scott Brennan
She was a retired employee of Fahnestock & Co in Waterbury and held administrative positions at other companies.
Elaine was an active member of Prospect United Methodist Church where she was Chairman of the parish pastor replacement committee, Superintendent and a teacher of Sunday School, on the Bridal Show committee. She was in her full glory the year that her grandson played baby Jesus in the Christmas play. She and Charles enjoyed travel with church groups and cruises with family and friends. As a member of the Junior Women’s Club in Wolcott, she authored their opening prayer which is still used today.
Relatives and friends may call at Dunn Funeral Home 191 West St. Bristol on Wednesday from 5:00 to 7:00 PM and Thursday from 9 AM until the start of the Funeral service that will begin at 10:00 AM at the funeral home.
