Edward Joseph (Chike) Czajkowski, 77, of 115 Birchwood Terrace, Bristol passed away at home on Thursday, Jan. 19, 2006. He was the widower of Rita M. (Hamel) Czajkowski. He was born in Terryville on July 10, 1928 the son of the late Anthony and Lottie (Mawecki) Czajkowski. Those of us who were lucky enough to have known him were embraced by his sense of humor. He is already greatly missed by all. Ed was a longtime resident of Bristol and a member of Italian Social Club, Jacklin Rod and Gun Club, Polish American Club, Zbikowski Post, American Legion and St. Stanislaus Church. He was a veteran of the Korean War, serving in the U.S. Army. Ed was employed by Pratt & Whitney in Southington for 38 years before he retired in 1989. He is survived by two sons, Gary Morgan of Bristol, Brian Czajkowski and his wife, Marcie, of Burlington; a daughter, Leslie Rand and her husband, Alan, of Bristol; a sister, Marion Essex of San Diego, Calif.;seven grandchildren, Donna Morgan, Ashley Morgan, Gary Morgan Jr., Jeffrey Morgan, Erin Rand,Edward "EJ" Czajkowski and Matthew Czajkowski; six great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by a granddaughter, Michelle Morgan. A military funeral will be held on Monday at 9 a.m. from Dunn Funeral Home, 191 West St., Bristol to St. Stanislaus Church for a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. Burial will follow with military honors in St. Mary Cemetery, Terryville. Friends may call at the funeral home on Sunday from 5 to 8 p.m. Donations can be made to Hope Clinic, LLC Oncology-Hematology Care Center 10 N. Main St., Bristol, CT 06010.
