Bristol, Mr. Dominick H. Ferro, 84, of Bristol died peacefully with his family at his side on Friday, May 26, 2006 at the Bristol Hospital. He was the husband of Norma (Burgar) Ferro.
Dominick (Nick) was born on September 1, 1921 in Bristol, son of the late Dominick and Maria (Nestico) Ferro.
Nick served in the Army National Guard. He was self-employed as a building contractor for over 50 years, retiring in 1995. He was a member of St. Anthony Church. Nick and his 1931 Model A Ford were regulars at the Saturday night Car Show in town.
Besides his wife of 66 years. he is survived by a daughter, Debra and her husband Robert J. Cusson of Bristol, three sons and daughters-in-law, James and Marta Ferro of Middletown, Dennis and Faye of Terryville and Nick and Judi Ferro of Bristol, 9 grandchildren Robert M. and Daniel Cusson, Joseph, Andrew and Philippe Ferro, Melissa Lauretti, Dennis Ferro, Nick Ferro and Tamera Procko, Seven great-grandchildren, Michael, Kyle and Daniel Lauretti, Jordyn, Kaysie and Jared Procko and Kayla Ferro, a brother Joseph Ferro of Harwinton and two sisters, Mary Barkowicz of Bristol and Pauline Dubay of Chester, VA and ,many nieces and nephews.
Nick was pre-deceased by three brothers, Frank, Anthony and James Ferro; an three sisters, Annie Masotti, Catherine and Grace Coneita.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, June 3rd at 10:00 am at St. Anthony Church. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery, Bristol. Dunn Funeral Home 191 West St. Bristol is in charge of arrangements.
