Mr. David L. Davis, Sr., 71, of 47 Jacobs St. Bristol, passed away September 3, 2010 at the Bristol Hospital. He was the husband of Alida C. (Reed) Davis. David was born on August 31, 1939 in Barre, VT the son of the late Wesley Davis and Evelyn (Archer) Davis Spaulding. He was an accountant for many years before he retired 14 years ago. He was a member of Prospect United Methodist Church in Bristol, a member and former permittee of Bristol Moose Lodge 712, and was an avid Red Sox and Uconn Women Basketball fan, and he enjoyed hunting and fishing. Beside his wife he is survived by three sons, David L Davis, Jr. and his wife Brenda, of Terryville, Scott and his wife DeeDee Davis of Terryville, Jeffrey L. Davis of Berlin, a daughter, Pamela Nadeau and her husband Richard of Bristol, a brother Wesley Davis of Barre, VT and a sister, Celia Clark of East Montpelier, VT: Seven grandchildren and four great grandchildren plus several nieces and nephews.He was pre-deceased by a brother Raymond Bixby.
Funeral service will be held on Wednesday at 11 a.m. at Dunn Funeral Home 191 West St. Bristol, with Pastor William Barnes officiating. Burial will follow in Peacedale Cemetery.
