Concetta "Connie" (Gurgigno) Schur, 83, of Bristol, passed away peacefully Friday, Oct. 3, 2008, at her home. She was the widow of George (Gus) W. Schur. She was born in Bristol May 10, 1925, the daughter of Antonio and Domenica Rosaria (Villone) Gurgigno. She worked at Wallace Barnes for 42 years until she retired in 1986. Connie was a life-long member St. Anthony Church, Barnes Group Girl's Club, past member of St. Anthony Rosary Society, Volunteer at St. Anthony festivals and Friday bingo and for the Exchange Club. She is survived by her loving daughter, Debra Schur of Bristol; a sister, Marguerite and her husband, Hellmuth Heiniman, of Newington; brother and sister-in-law, Richard and Judith Schur; sister in-law's, Miriam and Esther Gurgigno; brother-in-law, Carl Albritton; many many nieces and nephews; and great and great-greatnieces and nephews, who she loved dearly. Plus a large group of cherished friends at St. Anthony Church. She was predeceased by her sisters, Filomena and Rose; her twin, and her brothers, Vito, Patsy, Joe Buck and Peter Buck. She had the energy of a 30 year old and always used it to help others. From the thousands of Italian cookies to her eggplant and lasagna. She brought much joy to many. Her exuberance energy, generosity and love were endless. We trust she is putting everyone on a much faster track up in heaven. It is a very special gift to have been loved by Connie Schur. Funeral will be held Tuesday, Oct. 7, 2008, at 9 a.m. from the Dunn Funeral Home, 191 West St., Bristol, to St. Anthony Church for A Mass of Christian burial at 10 a.m. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery, Bristol. Friends may call at the funeral home Monday, Oct. 6, 2008, from 4 to 8 p.m. Donations can be made to St. Anthony Development Fund, 111 School St., Bristol, CT 06010.
