Alphonse J. DeFillippi

Alphonse J. DeFillippi, 91, of Rensselaer, NY passed away Thursday, February 27, 2014 in NY. He was the Husband of Virginia (Ciaciolo,Brennan) DeFillippi and the late Shirley (Ohlson) DeFillippi.
He was born January 4, 1923 in Bristol, CT, the son of the late Alexander and Josephine (DeMarzio) DeFillippi.
Alphonse was a veteran in WW II serving in the United States Marine Corp. He worked at Wallace Barnes for 47 years before he retired. He moved to Florida for 16 years and then spent he final years in up state NY. He was a member of St. Anthony Church.
He is survived by a son, Robert DeFillippi and his wife Jane of Melrose,MA and a daughter, Susan Broderick an her husband John of Plainville. four stepchildren, Virginia Murphy and her husband Richard of Eugene, Oregon, Thomas Brennan and his wife Lisa of Valatie, NY Mary Brennan of Slingerlands, NY and John Brennan and his wife Lisa of Verbank, NY a brother Frank DeFillippi and two sisters, Miculatina “Mickie†Smyrski and Viola DeSepio plus a brother-in-law Joseph Sarno and a sister-in-law Joyce DeFillippi.three grandchildren, and 15 step grandchildren and 16 step- great grandchildren.
He was predeceased by Five brothers, Pat, Louis, Donald, Alexander and Joseph DeFillippi, Sr. and a sister, Virginia Sarno.
Funeral service will be held on Tuesday, March 4, 2014 at 11:00 AM at Dunn Funeral Home 191 West St. Bristol. Friends may call at the funeral home from 9:30 to 11:00 AM. Burial will follow with Military Honors in St. Joseph Cemetery, Bristol.
