Mr. Francesco Morrone, of Bristol, passed away at the Bristol Hospital, Thursday, (April 29, 2010), to be reunited with his wife of more than 50 years, Giovanna (Nacaratto) Morrone; his daughter, Adeline DiMatteo; and his son, Luigi Morrone. Frank was 92 years-old and was surrounded by members of his loving family when he passed. Francesco was born in Paterno-Calabro, Cosenza, Italy on January 18, 1918, and emigrated from Italy to America in 1961. He worked for Bristol Brass for many years, and also for OZ Gedney, and Foodmart. He was a member of St. Anthony's Church. Frank enjoyed many Sunday meals with his family, tending to his large vegetable garden, and watching wrestling with his grandchildren. He will be missed greatly. He is survived by his son, Peter Morrone and fiancé Sinthia; grandchildren, Pasquale DiMatteo, Frank DiMatteo and his wife Pamela, Peter Morrone Jr. and fiancé Brie, Anthony Morrone; his son-in-law, Mario DiMatteo; and great-granddaughter, Jocelyn. Norma A. (Scott) Gagner
Norma A. (Scott) Gagner, 80, of Bristol passed away Tuesday, April 20, 2010, after a courageous battle with cancer. Norma was born in Bristol June 27, 1929, to the late Hugh and Mary (Power) Scott. After retiring from Ingraham Indus./Bussman Mfg, she enjoyed spending time with her family, reading and cooking. She is survived by her sons, Terry Gagner of Bristol and Brian Gagner of Salisbury, N.C.; three daughters and sons in-laws, Rachael and Vincent D'Andrea, Jane and Frank Gagliardi of Bristol and Brenda and Robert Mitchell of Fairhaven, Mass.; four grandchildren, David D'Andrea, Jeffrey D'Andrea and his wife, Janice D'Andrea, Domenic Gagliardi and Eric Gagner; a great-granddaughter, Zoey D'Andrea; two sisters, Anna and Joseph Bachman of Bristol and Margarite Ritchie of West Hartford; and two brothers, Michael and Ceil Scott and Joseph and Kitty Scott of Vermont; two stepgrandsons, Antonio and Elizabeth Gagliardi and Giovanni Gagliardi; several nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by a son, Scott Gagner; a daughter, Noreen Norkus; her sisters, Margaret Spinelli, Ruth Palmisano, Mary Pons, Doris Scott and Rachael Scott; and brothers, John, Patrick and Eugene Scott. a memorial Mass will be held on Saturday, April 24, 2010, at 10 a.m., at St. Ann's Church, West Street, Bristol. Friends and family are invited to gather at Dunn Funeral Home, 191 West St., Bristol, Friday, April 23, 2010, from 6 to 8 p.m. Burial will be at the convenience of the family. Norma M. Ferro
Norma Mae (Burgar) Ferro, 86, of Bristol, died peacefully with her family at her side on Saturday, April 17, 2010, at Bristol Hospital. She was predeceased by her devoted husband of 65 years, Dominick H. Ferro.
Norma was born in Bristol on Dec. 6, 1923, daughter of the late Blanche (Rusgrove) and Frank Burgar.
She is survived by her loving children: a daughter, Debra and her husband, Robert Cusson, of Bristol; three sons and daughters-in-law, James and Marta Ferro of Middletown, Dennis and Faye Ferro of Terryville and Nick and Judi Ferro of Bristol; nine grandchildren, who she cherished and called her "Noonie," Robert and Daniel Cusson, Joseph, Andrew and Philippe Ferro, Melissa Lauretti, Dennis and Nick Ferro and Tamera Procko; seven great-grandchildren, Michael, Kyle and Daniel Lauretti, Jordyn, Kaysie and Jared Procko and Kayla Ferro; a sister, Florence Bourgoin of Terryville; and many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her brother, James Burgar of Colorado, and her sisters, Blanche Brooks, Grace Fasci and Eleanor Papapietro of Bristol.
Norma worked for more than 20 years at LaMonico's Restaurant, where she was loved by all her customers.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, April 24, 2010, at 10 a.m. at St. Andrew Evangelical Lutheran Church, 1125 Stafford Ave., Bristol. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery, Bristol. There are no calling hours.
